My Brand New Business Name!

I come up with interesting ideas sometimes, and I am absolutely thrilled with this new idea. I’ve rolled all of the creative things I’ve been doing, and am now going to work at actually making a profit, rather than just having fun with all I’ve been doing.

So Poet, Writer, Stand Up Comedian, Public Speaker. Art Installation Curator, are now officially what my business does. How exciting is that? Extremely exciting, that’s what I think A bit scary too, of course, but I can handle that, a bit of stress, if managed, makes it all the more exciting!

I’d already been doing these things anyway, so it’s not like I’ve completely stepped out of my comfort zone. And the possibility of actually making some real money doing these things is certainly one part of why I’ve done this.

And of course, with a new direction, should come a new name, and a new name is what I now have! In the week just gone, I registered the business name I’ll be working under, and I love my new Business Name.

I am now QUIRKY CARO, I already was a bit quirky to some, and now I’m hoping to be Quirky to many more!

The photo shows a small section of the rusty items found and then put on display on the Redbanks Rust & Found Art Installation

The curation of this Art Installation involves locatng and collecting likely items to then be put on display. It also involves thinking about what I’m doing, and why, and considering ways to explain the various aspects of why what I am doing is of importance.

The motor vehicle items such as that wheel hub for instance, no sgns of rust there, and often found by the side of the road, and left there, probably by the car owners with no knowledge of where that item fell off … Thinking about that, and then about the horse shoes also on display at this Art Installation is just one way to contextualise the collection, there are many more.

With so many items on display, I estimate there to be 760 different items, and of a wide variety of mostly metal objects, that have ended up here on this Art Installation, I hope visitors will find much of interest.

Whether a local coming to have a look at what is happening, or a tourist visiting perhaps from somewhere a long way away, I hope, if not expect, to find a niche market in the Unique Experience Tourism Market.

From being the Assistant Curator for an afternoon, or going on walk to discover what is ‘out there waiting to be found’, to driving around the Adealide Plains region looking at the other businesses deemed to be ‘Hidden Gems’ as my business also is, I think this new business, Quirky Caro, is going to work!

If you’re ever in South Australia, especially if you like collecting things too, come on down, you’ll have a fun time for sure. If you’re super lucky, you may even get to see my Unicorn Collection! Or I may do a performance as Nanna Carreau, my Stand Up comedy alter ego, and you’ll laugh and laugh!

Life is always worth searching for the things to laugh at, otherwise things get too sad, and who wants that? Not me, that’s for sure!

Quirky means unusual, different, and fun, and I’m looking forward to be living my dream, and sharing the fun times with many others!
