Fab Feb Writing Prompts – Day Twenty-nine

So today … the twenty-ninth of February, the final day of this fabulous month of a new writing prompt a day … I’ve enjoyed posting a new prompt every single day, and the couple of times I did it incoreectly it didn’t matter there was a prompt there, a new one for every day in February.

And speaking of writing prompts, here is the prompt for today, the final prompt of Fab Feb Writing Prompts. The writing prompt is: Prove it!
How’s that for a challenge?! Call yourself a writer, prove it, and write!

I like to be called an inspiration, by people – it seemed a little odd the first time it happened, but when I think about it, it makes sense. I’ve had some challenges in my life, and have got through them, and come out smiling at the end. I still have some challenges, but I’ve thought about them, and found the best ways to work with those challenges. I don’t personally go with the idea of ‘fighting’ against my problems, they are there, and fighting something with no cure is senseless, so I work at ‘living with’ rather than ‘fighting’ my Chronic Illness.

I pace myself, write fun things, look at what I know, and write about that, and I use humour when I can! Life is a journey, I want to enjoy the trip!

So yes inspiration and being inspirational are things I know a lot about, I am living them, and living a fine life with them. One of the things I an do, is help other people to use their writing ability, and bring creative words into the world. I do it, I’ve been doing it all of February, with people coming along to my writer blog here, and they read my prompt, and write something, or at least they think about writing something, and that is enough.

Responding to a new prompt every single day has been a big challenge, and I have to admit, I haven’t got a new poem for every single day of February, but I’ve been doing a lot more creative writing than I usually do, and I’ve written more poems than usual, and have in fact added some new poems to the poetry collection I’m putting together to get feedback on, with a view to submitting it to a publisher this year, to get it published.

I’m happy with how the collection is looking, everyone I’ve tested the title on has loved it, and I feel positive about the collection, really. Some of the poems may be weaker than others, but I have enough that I can delete them before submission time, and still have a good sized collection. I’ve done this before, and I’ve learnt more and more every time. This will work, and if my selected publisher doesn’t want it, I have back up plans. The collection will become a book, this year!

And because this writng prompt thing on my writer blog has been a postive thing for me, and for other writers, I’ve decided to continue doing it, but will scale it back, doing a new one every day has been a bit testing … So once a week seems a much easier way to go, it will give more time to get a response to the new prompt done, before the next prompt comes along.

Every Monday, before lunchtime (South Australian time), I plan to have the writing prompt for the week on this blog. I’ll be putting other things here too, and because I’ve become accustomed to doing writing related things just after breakfast every single day, I plan to get writing on my Cosy Murder Mystery books! I really want to become known as a poet, which I already am, and a writer of Cosy Murder Mysteries. And if I wish to become known as the latter of those things, I have to write them, and get them published, to prove that’s what I am!

So think about yourself, what you believe in, what you say you are, and what you can do, and prove it!

Fab Feb Writing Prompts – Day Six

It’s an important word, ‘After’. After what? Afterwards, after dinner, after school is over, after you’ve left that job you hate, or been sacked from one you loved, after the divorce.

Today’s writing primpt is that word –      After

There are so many things in life that come along after … After you think about this new word prompt, I hope you’ll find some great ideas to write about! After this, that and the other …

After I realise I said something stupid, that can be an embarrassing thing, but sometimes looking at it and treating it with humour can halt the afterburn! Afterthoughts, oh the wisdom of our afterthoughts …

Further thoughts on what happens after – after the kids start school, move out of home, find someone they love, get married, have children. What about after we die – what happes then, and what will happen to us after we age and become frail …

Some of these things are good, some are not so good, some can be terrible. But they’re all good things to think further on, and to write about. How about thinking about after the operation, after you move home, move to the country, or to the city?

Big things might happen after … or maybe things stop happening after, and how might that feel?

So that’s today’s writing prompt, AFTER!

From Small Things …

I’m quite excited about what the month of February might bring – a little work for me, in the posting of a new creative writing prompt on this blog, every single day of this month of February, as well as the birthday of my super dooper bestest ever best friend, also known as my husband, Graham.

I hope that by the end of the month, I, and anyone who wants to come along for the ride, will have at least 29 new pieces of creative writing, that one hopes, might go on to become something more than just the small thing it began as. From a single writing prompt, may come an entire novel! Or, as in my case, the improvement of a poetry collection, that goes on to be published!

If you’re reading this post, and are excited about what may happen for you, for this month, I’d love to hear about it, please feel free to leave a comment, and we may begin a worthwhile discussion about writing related things – hopes for our writing, ideas about how to improve what we write, anything. We are writers, and we write – may our words bring worth to us, and to all who read our words!

I have dreams, I have ideas. If anyone reading this blog is interested, I love to give workshops to small groups, especially those who aren’t really sure about the scribbles they do, when they feel the need to get the stuff in their brain out, and onto the page. This writing can be rubbish, at times, but it can also be wonderful.

Sometimes you can match the rubbish up with something else, give it bit of a polish, and it can become something far larger than the individual parts! Dare to dream, dare to write, dare to be your most fabulous self! And remember to tell people I helped you! Haha.

An image I took recently, when there were so many very important things going on, that I knew I had to capture images of, but I felt impelled to take a photograph of the ground at my feet, and in that image, are so many individual things. Stones, pebbles, sticks, leaves, sand, dirt, and who knows what else. There’s the toe of my foot, and part of the chair I was sitting on, and a tiny piece of the pants I was wearing …

Is it, could it be, inspirational, who knows, but right know, at this very moment, I’ve begun thinking about the series of Cosy Murder Mystery books I’m thinking of creating, and maybe this image could have been taken by my amateur sleuth, Meredith, and it turns out to contain a vital clue to the question of ‘Who done it?’

Inspiration, what a lovely word it is. If I can inspire more loveliness in February, how awesome that could be, would be, should be! I ask of all to help the awesomeness manifest, for the month of February! Let this blog be inspiration for a more awesome world, filled with the awesome creative writing from February!
